Island Energy offers a whole of system warranty for a period of 5 years, commencing from the installation date on the relevant safety certificate.
The remaining 5 years covers any defects due to workmanship.
The customers rights sit alongside the consumer guarantees which are required under Australian Consumer Law.
WARRANTY COMMENCEMENT DATE:
The warranty commencement date shall be the same date of which the homeowner takes possession of the system, as stated on the Certificate of Compliance.
EXCLUSIONS:
the following items are not included in the provided warranty.
A. Electricity, gas and water meters which are maintained and covered by the Local Distribution Network.
B. Damage occurring from wear and tear, misuse of the product or lack of proper maintenance.
C. Any defected items that are installed by someone other than an Island Energy representative.
D. Loss or injury due to the elements (including but not limited to damage due to lightning, over voltage, storm, surge, fire) or cosmetic shortcomings which do not influence the supply of energy.
SERVICING:
The homeowner must understand that for this warranty to remain valid they must have their system inspected and serviced within a minimum of every two years (24 months) by a CEC Accredited Electrician. The homeowner will pay service fees. Once the warranty period has expired, the homeowner will assume complete and total responsibility and liability for any and all repairs and inspections.
PANEL WARRANTY:
TERM OF COVERAGE:
All warranties are subject to manufacturer specifications and may differ from this document.
25 years manufacturers’ performance warranty stipulates that the panels will be working at 80% efficiency after 25 years of operation.
This warranty service is offered only when this warranty certificate together with a valid purchase receipt of the installed system is presented to Island Energy at the main office.
This warranty covers defects due to faulty design, workmanship or materials.
Island Energy will not be held responsible for any loss of energy generation during the time it takes to repair faulty or defect items. Island Energy will not be responsible for any other costs due to delay in repairs or replacements.
No claim based on this warranty may be brought forward after the applicable warranty period. Any delivery of additional PV modules or the repair or replacement of PV modules shall not extend the original terms of this warranty.
LIMITED PRODUCT WARRANTY AND EXCLUSIONS:
Island Energy does not warrant its products from any and all defects or damage caused by the following.
A. Malfunction or damage as a result of misuse, abuse, negligence or any other use of the product other than the prescribed use.
B. Malfunction or damage due to fire, flood, earthquake, lightning or any other natural disaster, abnormal voltage, war or any other disturbance (civil unrest, riots, vandalism etc.) unforseen accidents, or any other external factors beyond the control of the manufacturer or the sales company that sold the product.
C. Repair or modification by someone other than an Island Energy Representative.
D. Products which have had serial numbers changed or tampered with.
INVERTER WARRANTY:
TERM OF COVERAGE:
The terms and conditions of warranty period differs between each respective inverter manufacturer.
Check with your inverter manufacturer for their warranty terms and conditions that relate to your installed model.
If a system has not been serviced at the appropriate intervals (24 months) and an Inverter requires replacement due to a manufacturing fault, you will be charged a Solar Service fee for handling and installation of the new inverter, a full service, panel clean and report.
COVERAGE:
The Island Energy warranty covers any repair or replacement part costs associated with the inverter supplied incurring within the agreed period starting on the date of purchase by the homeowner, subject to the following conditions.
If a device becomes defective within the agreed Island Energy warranty period, one of the services listed below will be performed at no charge for material or labour costs.
A. Repair at Island Energy workshop.
B. Repair on site
C. Exchange for a replacement inverter depending on product availability.
Island Energy reserves the right to inspect the defective component and determine whether defect is due to material or manufacturing flaws. Island Energy also reserves the right to charge a fee for service time expended if the defect is not due to material or workmanship and is therefore not subject to this warranty.
Island Energy will, at its decision, use new or original parts to complete a repair on such defective items. Island Energy reserves the right to use new or original parts in the repair or replacement. If Island Energy repairs or replaces a product, the remainder of the warranty entitlement will be transferred to the replacement device. In such an event, homeowner will not receive a new certificate, the warranty will continue from the remaining portion of the original warranty period from the date the defect item has been replaced.
PRODUCT WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS:
Island Energy does not warrant its products from any and all defects or damage caused by the following.
A. Unauthorized or abnormal use or operation.
B. Negligence or accidents
C. Failure to observe the applicable safety regulations.
D. Material or any workmanship not provided by Island Energy.
E. This warranty does not cover the costs related to removal , installation, or troubleshooting of your electrical systems.
